This is a big decision in your life and career, so we want to know more about you... so we can tell you (and show you) more about the area - relative to your art, personal interests and needs, and your visions for yourself and your world.
• Step 3: Let’s talk: artist to artist. Our process is like an executive recruiting process, only ours is done artist-to-artist. We know the value you will bring to our community, and we want to find the best people for the best fit - with mutual, long-term benefits. Our director, Maarten Jacobs, is an artist, and his job is to find out what your need and introduce you to the Syracuse community in a way that informs and accelerates your decision.
• Step 4: Imagine your future: the space, the place, the community. There are many studios, live/work spaces, houses, and other “opportunity properties” available in the SALT District. The prices are great, with incentive packages that can be customized to meet your needs. Either virtually or face-to-face, we can show you the building blocks of your own future: spaces where you can create your own environment, the neighborhood of artists, area and regional hotspots and cultural resources to inspire and nourish your art.
• Step 5: Connect with other artists, resources, kindred spirits. Syracuse and Central Upstate NY – known as NY’s Creative Core - has a storied history of art and innovation. The region is the cradle of social movements, artistic creations and inventions which have shaped US history and our lives. And, it’s happening again.
